چکیده
Rodolfo Gomez is currently a PhD student 1 in the Computing Laboratory at Kent. In 2000, he joined the realtime systems research group at Universidad Nacional del Sur (Argentina), where he worked until 2002 on temporal and active databases and temporal query languages. This research (in collaboration, among others, with Dr. Juan Augusto at University of Ulster and Dr. Antony Galton at University of Exeter) resulted in an evaluation of temporal query languages [Gom&Aug,00], the analysis of an event specification language for active databases [Gomez et al,01; Gom&Aug,04], and a method to verify PARADIGM (a SE notation) models using Propositional Linear Temporal Logic [Aug&Gom,02; Aug&Gom,03]. Rodolfo Gomez was awarded a prestigious Overseas Research Scholarship from Universities UK to study at the University of Kent. As a result, he joined the Theoretical Computer Science research group in 2002, under the supervision of Dr. Howard Bowman. His contributions in this period include an implementation of a decision procedure for Propositional ITL [Gom&Bow,04]; a timed automata notation for the specification and verification of infinite-state systems (Discrete Timed Automata) [Gom&Bow,03-DTA]; and a method to detect zeno-timelocks in timed automata [Bow, Gom et al,04]. He has published in a number of conferences (ICEIS, SEKE, FORTE and AMAST) and journals (International Journal of Software Engineering & Knowledge Engineering and Journal of Applied Non-Classical Logics). He has also won the Prestigious Paper Award from the Computing Laboratory at Kent (for the paper [Gom&Bow,04]), and completed a major research monograph on concurrency theory [Bow&Gom,05]. All this makes Rodolfo Gomez a strong candidate for the Fellowship Call, and shows that he has the necessary skills to undertake the proposed research.

A: Results And Conclusions Of Recent Work Previous work funded by EPSRC (GR/M89331) has validated a theoretical analysis of cutting in cinema film, which will in this project be applied to interface design. There are two main phases to the project. First, usability experiments will use display designs based upon existing commercial interfaces in which the dynamic aspects flout the theoretically...
متن کاملShanghai’s Track Record in Population Health Status: What Can Explain It?; Comment on “Shanghai Rising: Health Improvements as Measured by Avoidable Mortality Since 2000”
Health reforms that emphasize public health and improvements in primary care can be cost-effective measures to achieve health improvements, especially in developing countries that face severe resource constraints. In their paper “Shanghai rising: health improvements as measured by avoidable mortality since 2000,” Gusmano et al suggest that Shanghai’s health policy-makers have been successful in...

متن کاملEffects of track characteristics on dynamic responses of train-bridge systems
High speed trains are an indispensable part of rapid transportation systems in many countries. As the fastest means of transport on the ground, these trains are extremely sensitive to the terrain and track conditions. Geometrical irregularities and mechanical characteristics of the track, together with inconsistencies in the lane (including bridges that support the track) are considered importa...
